After a forty year search and thirty years of creative writing, I realised; 'the two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.’ (Mark Twain 1835-1910).
I am now an author writing biographies and memoirs for ordinary and extraordinary people who all deserve to have their tales told.
I involve professional proof-readers, cover designers and online formatters to achieve the most creative and professional outcome for your story.
Memories, photographs, newspaper archives, online records and diary entries are all seperate pieces that can be scattered in brains and boxes. Gathering and putting them together creates an everlasting picture that captures the past and connects the family.
Genealogy outlines the where, who and when. A biography explores the how, why and what and adds colour to all six with rhythm and detail in a flowing and entertaining narrative.
Everyone has a story. A story of love, of loss and of adventure - a rollicking, spirited tale of achievements, failures, regrets, struggles and highlights that come with living a life. Unfortunately, many of these stories, in their entirety, go untold and are lost forever. Children, grandchildren and great grandchildren may never know their true history. Memories fade, just like photographs, but immortality is now achievable - in a literary form.
".....after reading through it, let alone living through it, I am exhausted. When I chose this path at 16 years old I never thought it would be such a long one. The day will surely come, though, when I am a dribbling old man with no hair and pee stains on my shorts, sitting under a shady tree with my watery eyes staring into the distance. When that day comes and I hear my grandchildren's children say, 'Who is that old guy?' I will hand them a copy of this book."

About Michael
I first arrived in Noosa in 1979, as a long-haired 18 year old, and pitched my tent in The Woods Caravan Park at the end of Hastings Street. It was a brief stay, but 20 years later I returned for good, accompanied by my wife, two young children, an overweight Labrador and an electric typewriter.
I had received the typewriter as a 30th birthday present to continue with my freelance writing studies in a more professional manner. Once in Noosa, the trusty typewriter was replaced by a desktop computer the size of a 1970s television.
Many jobs followed, which provided added material for my memoir; ‘Number 41’. And now, I write.
Nothing gives me more joy than recreating a true story and then taking the reader by the hand, sometimes running, sometimes walking, sometimes stopping in shock or wonderment as we laugh or cry together.
I don’t write boring, self-indulgent, rambling biographies.
I do write lively, readable, entertaining stories.
But, don’t just take my word for it. Read the testimonials. Read their stories. Read ‘Number 41’.
If you like my style, get in touch and we will bring your story to life.
“I was pleased with the excellent job Michael did on my biography. Michael is a lovely guy with a great sense of humour and it was a pleasure to be interviewed by him. His work, including his historical research, was very thorough and the whole process was most enjoyable. My family and all those who have read the book have been very complimentary of it.”
